Who has 2 thumbs and is OBSESSED with donuts??? THIS GIRL! I’m serious, they are my weakness- my kryptonite. If I were a character on “Sesame Street” I would be the “Donut Monster”. Still don’t believe me? Okay, here’s an example: I was sick in January with the super flu and my boo tried everything to get me out of bed.
Chris: “Babe, want to go for a walk”? Me: “No, I can’t, i’m dying”. (#dramaqueen) / Chris: “Want to go to the movies?” Me: “I simply can’t move, my body huurts”/ Chris: “Want to get some ice cream?” Me: “Nooooo, I just cannn’t”. / Chris: “Want to get some donuts?” Me: :gets dressed at Superman speed, runs downstairs and gets into passengers seat of car all within a 3 minute timespan: “LETS GO NOW! I’M READY!”
So yeah, I have #donutproblems. That all being said, I consider myself to be a donut connoisseur. Not all donuts are created equal! I’ve had my share of stale, frozen-pretending-to-be-fresh donuts- I know what made from scratch quality taste like and this place is legit! (warning: the images you are about to see will cause drooling, donut cravings, and salivating.)
Jupiter Donut Company make their donuts fresh from scratch every day and have a wide variety of flavors to choose from- their catalog has over 100 varieties- which is a good thing and a bad thing. The good thing is there is a lot to choose from- the bad part is I can’t fit them all in my belly. 😦 But that doesn’t mean a girl can’t try!
There are 2 types of people in this world: cake donut people and yeast donut people. I’ve always considered myself a yeast donut person, cake donuts have never tickled my fancy before- while my bae, on the other hand, is a cake donut person (he is the ying to my yang,
aww). So we tried yeast and cake donuts and LET ME TELL YOU WHAT- they are all heavenly! I even loved the cake ones- let’s just say we had a hard time sharing 🙂
I really don’t think there are enough syllables in this world to describe the complex flavors but I’ll try. Each donut has it’s own extraordinariness- take the maple bacon for example- you have the sweetness from the maple with the crispy saltiness of the bacon- it’s a magical, soft, doughy, syrupy match made in heaven. And the red velvet cake donut – OOOH MAN! So cakey, so moist, so luscious-but also not too overly sweet- a perfect balance of indulgence.
I really can’t choose a favorite, however, the Salted Caramel is glorious. The chocolate is almost fudge-like and the caramel is smooth and silky.
But wait! There’s more! Jupiter Donuts also has sandwiches, ranging from breakfast to lunch. We tried the breakfast DONUT sandwich (YOU HEARD ME!).
Isn’t that a sexy breakfast sandwich? Here’s what I love about it- yes, it’s on a bun made out of a donut- but they didn’t glaze the donut so it wasn’t overly sugary at all. It balanced perfectly with the cheese, egg, and bacon. :slow clap:
Jupiter Donut Company also features locally roasted Buddy Brew coffee which is simply divine.
Bottom Line: Get in your car, buckle up, turn it on, drive to Palm Harbor, and stock up on some fabulous freshly made donuts!
